Tenth-ranked Elitzur Netanya (2-15) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (7-10). The visitors from Petah Tikva managed to secure only one-point victory 94-93. However their fans expected easier game. The guests were tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They eventually won an overtime period 9-8. Hap.Petah Tikva outrebounded Elitzur Netanya 46-35 including 31 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American center Stephanie Madden (185-88, college: Langston) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Keena Mays (170, college: SMU) contributed with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American point guard Haiden Palmer (173, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian forward Kalisha Keane (185-89, college: Michigan St.) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Elitzur Netanya. Four Elitzur Netanya players scored in double figures. Hap.Petah Tikva moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ramat Hasharon and H.R. Le-Zion. Elitzur Netanya lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against higher ranked Maccabi Ramat Hen (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Elitzur Netanya will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
