There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (10-12) lost at home to eleventh ranked Brasilia (10-12) 78-67. The game was mostly controlled by Brasilia. Sao Jose/Vinac was better in third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brasilia players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Kyle Lamonte (191-84, college: William Carey) chipped in 15 points. The former international power forward William Drudi (206-81) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and American-Jordanian swingman Jimmy Baxter (193-80, college: S.Florida) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brasilia have a solid four-game winning streak.
