Regular Season Round 17: Hapoel K/S - Netanya 78-91

Very predictable result when fourth ranked GreenTops Netanya (12-5) defeated on the road 10th ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (6-11) 91-78 on Tuesday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when GreenTops Netanya's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-19 extending their advantage to 13 points. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. GreenTops Netanya looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American Brandon Brown (199-85, college: CS San Bernar.) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four GreenTops Netanya players scored in double figures. American guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Roi Huber (184-97) added 19 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) respectively for the hosts. GreenTops Netanya have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Hapoel Migd.H. and Hapoel G/A. Loser Hapoel Kfar Saba dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. GreenTops Netanya will meet at home Hapoel Afula (#5) in the next round. Hapoel Kfar Saba will play against Elitzur Yavne (#6) and hope to secure a win.
