Regular Season Round 17: Maccabi K/G - Elitzur Yavne 103-82

National League top team - Maccabi K/G (13-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Elitzur Yavne (9-8) in Kiryat Gat 103-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Elitzur Yavne. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi K/G. Elitzur Yavne was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi K/G dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Elitzur Yavne's 46. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Terrence Watson (200-87, college: Ball St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Gal Eitan (183-97) accounted for 22 points. American guard Mark Tyndale (196-86, college: Temple) came up with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Naor Sharon (193-95) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Elitzur Yavne in the defeat. Five Maccabi K/G and four Elitzur Yavne players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Maccabi K/G maintains first place with 13-4 record, which they share with Ironi K-A. Elitzur Yavne at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Ironi Ramat Gan. Maccabi K/G will play against league's second-placed Ironi Kiryat Ata on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Elitzur Yavne will play against Hapoel Kfar Saba (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
