Regular Season Round 17: Hapoel Migd.H. - Ironi Ramat Gan 81-60
Date: February 10, 2015
Not a big story in a game in Tarshicha where 7th ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (9-8) was rolled over by third ranked Hapoel Migd.H. (12-5) 81-60 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Migd.H.. Ironi Ramat Gan managed to win fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Migd.H. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American Chris Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) who scored 26 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) chipped in 9 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Bosnian-Croatian Dragan Bender (208-97) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and center Ben Altit (208-93, college: Bryant, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hapoel Migd.H. maintains third place with 12-5 record behind leader Maccabi K/G, which they share with Netanya and Hapoel G/A. Loser Ironi Ramat Gan dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Elitzur Yavne. Hapoel Migd.H. will meet Hapoel Kazrin (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Ironi Ramat Gan will play against Elitzur Ramla and hope to secure a win.
