An exciting game was when top-ranked Top-ranked Cathay Life faced their biggest opponent Taiyuan Textile. Cathay Life (4-0) smashed Taiyuan Textile (2-2) 95-60. The game was mostly controlled by Cathay Life. Taiyuan Textile managed to win third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cathay Life dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Taiyuan Textile's 40. Cathay Life forced 20 Taiyuan Textile turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including 18 on the offensive glass. The former international center Ning Chang (186-87) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Yi-Feng Chen (170-84) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Cathay Life players scored in double figures. The former international center Pei-Chen Tsai (186-84) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Yi-Hung Ma (176-80) added 8 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cathay Life have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Taiyuan Textile at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Chunghua T.. Cathay Life are looking forward to face Chunghwa Telecom (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Taiyuan Textile will play against Taipower and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
