Second-ranked Taiyuan Textile (2-3) fell to fourth ranked Taipower (1-4) in overtime by eight points 75-83 on Wednesday night. Taipower took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Taiyuan Textile won fourth quarter 25-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Taiyuan Textile used huge pressure winning it 25-16 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 2-10. Taipower forced 25 Taiyuan Textile turnovers. The former international guard Shih-Chieh Chang (172-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 4 steals. The former international center Chi-Wen Lin (186-83) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Taipower's coach Wei-Juan Qian used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international center Pei-Chen Tsai (186-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and the former international forward His-Yeh Liu (172-91) added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Taiyuan Textile. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Taipower maintains fourth place with 1-4 record. It was Taiyuan Textile's third loss in a row. They keep the second position with three games lost. Taipower will face league's leader Cathay Life in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Taiyuan Textile will play against Chunghwa Telecom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
