Regular Season Round 32: Umea - Sodertalje 72-103
Date: February 13, 2015
9th ranked Umea (8-18) was outscored at home by fourth ranked Sodertalje Kings (18-7) with the biggest margin this round 103-72 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Sodertalje Kings. Umea was better in second period 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sodertalje Kings dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Umea's 34 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Sodertalje Kings especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Worth to mention a quality performance of American point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording 27 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Danish guard Darko Jukic (198-90, agency: Two Points) who added 15 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Five Sodertalje Kings players scored in double figures. Emil Salon (190-85) responded with 27 points and Egal Saleman (199-88) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Loser Umea keeps the ninth position with 18 games lost. Sodertalje Kings will face bottom-ranked KFUM Jamtland (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Umea will play against Nassjo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
