Regular Season Round 11: Champville - UBA 67-70

A very close game took place in Dik El Mehdi between UBA and Champville. Third ranked UBA (7-4) got a very close victory on the road over 4th placed Champville (5-6). UBA managed to escape with a 3-point win 70-67 in the game for the third place. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-10. But Champville won third quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) who scored 36 points (!!!). Bosnian-Serbian power forward Ratko Varda (212-79, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Georgian power forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili (212-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and the former international swingman Nadim Souaid (192-86) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Champville's coach Ghassan Sarkis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. UBA maintains third place with 7-4 record having just three points less than leader Al Riyadi. Loser Champville keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Moutahed. UBA will meet at home Homenetm. B (#6) in the next round. Champville will play against Hoops Club in Beirut and hope to secure a win.
