Regular Season Round 20: Denain - Nantes 67-72
Date: February 13, 2015
An interesting game took place in Denain where higher ranked Denain Voltaire (13-7) was upset on its own court by tenth ranked Nantes (10-10) 72-67 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Denain Voltaire. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-14. But Denain Voltaire won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and the other American import power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) responded with 14 points and 7 assists and Benoit Gillet (190-86) scored 11 points. Denain Voltaire's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Nantes moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Evreux. Denain Voltaire at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Nantes will face bottom-ranked Angers BC (#18) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Denain Voltaire will play against Saint-Quentin (#11) and hope to win that game.
