Regular Season Round 20: St Quentin - Boulazac 77-92

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Boulazac Basket (13-6) defeated on the road 9th ranked Saint-Quentin (9-11) 92-77 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Boulazac Basket. Saint-Quentin was better in fourth quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Boulazac Basket forced 19 Saint-Quentin turnovers. Strangely Saint-Quentin outrebounded Boulazac Basket 34-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Boulazac Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of British Ovie Soko (201-91, college: Duquesne) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Thomas Dubiez (195-80, agency: Comsport) who added 17 points during the contest. Four Boulazac Basket players scored in double figures. Boulazac Basket's coach Antoine Michon used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Anthony Smith (196-86, college: Liberty) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Boulazac Basket moved-up to third place, which they share with Monaco. Saint-Quentin at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Boulazac Basket will face league's leader Hyeres-Toulon at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saint-Quentin will play against Denain Voltaire (#6) and hope to win that game.
