Regular Season Round 23: Snaefell - Breidablik 84-48

Dominos League top team - Snaefell (19-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Breidablik (2-19) in Stykkisholmur 84-48. The game without a history. Snaefell led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Breidablik's 28. Snaefell forced 20 Breidablik turnovers and outrebounded them 65-37 including a 29-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Breidablik's players. The best player for the winners was American swingman Kristen McCarthy (182-90, college: Temple) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Hildur Sigurdardottir (178-81) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Four Snaefell players scored in double figures. American guard Arielle Wideman (175-92, college: Nevada) produced 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Gudrun Bjarnadottir (-94) added 12 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Snaefell have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-2 record. Newly promoted Breidablik stay dead last with 19 lost games. Snaefell will meet at home Haukar (#5) in the next round. Breidablik will play against the league's second-placed Keflavik and hope to secure a win.
