Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Azpeitia (7-12) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Cambados (10-9) 71-66. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Azpeitia won third quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Congolese forward Charles Nkaloulou (199-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 7 rebounds. Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Cambados' coach Yago Casal allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Power forward Federico Ucles (204-93) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American center Michael Mayer (205-92, college: Williams, agency: Duran International) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Azpeitia. Cambados moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Avila. Azpeitia lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with FC Barcelona II and Canarias. Cambados will play against league's second-placed Caceres Basket on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Azpeitia will play against CB Tarragona 2017 (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
