Regular Season Round 40: Gansos - Abejas 67-96

Date: February 14, 2015
No shocking result in a game in Ciudad de Mexico where eighth ranked Abejas (19-19) smashed 13th ranked Gansos (9-29) 96-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Abejas. Gansos managed to win second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gansos 49-36 including a 40-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (195-89, college: W.Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and guard Victor Buelna (192-78) who added 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Harrison Smith (190-87, college: Texas Southern) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Gansos' coach Luis Andres Garcia gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Abejas moved-up to sixth place. Gansos lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 29 games lost. Abejas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gansos will play against Jefes (#7) and hope to secure a win.
