Second Stage Round 1: Gimbasket Przemysl - Trefl II Sopot 90-71

There was a minor upset when Trefl II Sopot (0-9) was crushed on the road by Gimbasket Przemysl (7-2) 90-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gimbasket Przemysl. Trefl II Sopot was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Trefl II Sopot 36-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Gimbasket Przemysl especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gimbasket Przemysl made 7 blocks. Artur Mikolajko (197-79) stepped up and scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and swingman Bartosz Bal (190-89) chipped in 17 points. Four Gimbasket Przemysl players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Artur Wlodarczyk (182-96) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and power forward Jakub Czyz (202-95) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gimbasket Przemysl will face AZS PGd (#7) in Gdansk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Trefl II Sopot will play on the road against AZS AGH Alstom in Krakow and hope to win that game.
