Second Stage Round 1: Polonia Bytom - Nysa Klodzko 75-72

There was a small surprise when Polonia Bytom (5-4) edged at home Nysa Klodzko (6-3) 75-72 on Saturday. Nysa Klodzko was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great shooting night for Polonia Bytom especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. Center Michal Nikiel (205-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and point guard Marcin Ecka (184-78) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side swingman Maciej Lepczynski (194-83) responded with 31 points and point guard Marcin Kowalski (175-82) scored 10 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Polonia Bytom will face Kalisz (#8) on the road in the next round. Nysa Klodzko will play against WKK Wroclaw (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
