Regular Season Round 21: Dijon - Chalon 68-71

A very close game took place in JDA Dijon between Chalon/Saor and JDA Dijon. Tenth ranked Chalon/Saor (11-10) got a very close victory on the road over 4th placed JDA Dijon (13-8). Chalon/Saor managed to escape with a 3-point win 71-68 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-17. But JDA Dijon won second period 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) stepped up and scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international forward Ilian Evtimov (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Zach Moss (200-81, college: Mountain St.) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import Steven Gray (196-89, college: Gonzaga) scored 14 points. Chalon/Saor moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Le Mans and Le Havre. JDA Dijon lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Chalon/Saor will meet at home ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#10) in the next round. JDA Dijon will play against SO Maritime Boulogne (#17) in Boulogne-sur-Mer and hope to secure a win.
