Regular Season Round 20: AZS PP - Sokol Lancut 45-64

Very predictable result when second ranked Sokol Lancut (15-5) rolled over bottom-ranked AZS PP (4-16) in Poznan 64-45. It looked good early as AZS PP took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sokol Lancut had a 15-7 second period charge getting the lead and AZS PP was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 45-64. They dominated on the defensive end, holding AZS PP to just 7 points in second quarter. Sokol Lancut forced 22 AZS PP turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Rafal Kulikowski (205-85, agency: Promotex) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Power forward Maciej Klima (203-82) chipped in 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Szymon Budnikowski (200-84) produced 12 points and 4 assists and Michal Szydlowski (197-87) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sokol Lancut have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Stal Ostrow and Krosno. AZS PP at the other side stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Sokol Lancut's next round opponent will be league's leader Stal Ostrow in Ostrow Wlkp. and it will be for sure the game of the week. AZS PP will play on the road against GTK Gliwice (#9) and hope to win that game.
