Regular Season Round 20: Polfarmex KT - MKS DG 80-86

There was a small surprise in Kutno where twelfth ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (7-13) defeated 10th ranked AZS Polfarmex (8-12) 86-80 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But AZS Polfarmex won third quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. AZS Polfarmex was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American Myles McKay (193-86, college: Wisc.-Whitewater) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import Dalton Pepper (196-90, college: Temple) who added 13 points during the contest. McKay is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Czech Patrik Auda (206-89, college: Seton Hall) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four AZS Polfarmex players scored in double figures. AZS Polfarmex's coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted MKS Dabrowa Gornicza maintains twelfth position with 7-13 record. AZS Polfarmex at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will face higher ranked Twarde Pierniki (#10) in Torun in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
