Regular Season Round 20: Stelmet ZG - Asseco 85-66

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Stelmet as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Stelmet smashed 7th ranked Asseco in Zielona Gora 85-66. The hosts trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 19 points. Stelmet forced 23 Asseco turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 assists and international Aaron Cel (203-87) who added 16 points during the contest. The former international Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz (201-79) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) scored 5 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Asseco at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Asseco will play next round against Energa Czarni trying to get back on the winning streak. Stelmet will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Wilki Morskie in Szczecin.
