The game in Waterford supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Meteors (6-6) played at the court of 6th ranked WIT Wildcats (3-9). Meteors smashed WIT Wildcats 68-47. Strangely WIT Wildcats outrebounded Meteors 54-36 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Christine Ganser (185, college: Holy Cross) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Aoife McDermott (185-91) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Meteors players scored in double figures. Helena Rohan replied with 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and Claire Leavey added 7 points in the effort for WIT Wildcats. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Meteors maintains fifth position with 6-6 record. WIT Wildcats lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Meteors' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin DCU Mercy.
