Second Stage Round 1: AZS AWF K-ce - Kalisz 91-75

Very important is a road loss of Kalisz (3-6) against AZS AWF K-ce (9-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Kalisz unexpectedly was defeated by in Katowice 75-91. The game was mostly controlled by AZS AWF K-ce. Kalisz was better in fourth quarter 34-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS AWF K-ce players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Kamil Nowak (197-88) nailed 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side and guard Lukasz Szczypka (185-80) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists. AZS AWF K-ce's coach Miroslaw Stawowski used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Lukasz Wojciechowski (184-88) came up with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Jakub Kolodziej (186-86) added 15 points respectively for Kalisz in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AZS AWF K-ce will play against Nowa Sol (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kalisz will play against Polonia Bytom and hopes to get back on the winning track.
