Regular Season Round 21: Catz - Huima 86-71

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lappeenranta. First ranked Catz Lappeenranta faced second-best Aanekosken. Host Catz Lappeenranta (20-2) defeated guests from Aanekoski (15-6) 86-71. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Aanekosken. It looked good early as Aanekosken took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Catz Lappeenranta had a 21-10 second period charge getting the lead and Aanekosken was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-86. Catz Lappeenranta players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American Chandrea Jones (175-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. American power forward Chandra Harris (186-89, college: Georgia St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) added 8 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Aanekosken. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-2 record. Aanekosken at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Catz Lappeenranta will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aanekosken will play at home against Peli-Karhut and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
