Regular Season Round 23: Keflavik - Hamar 69-54

Date: February 14, 2015
Very expected game when 6th ranked Hamar (5-16) was defeated on the road by second ranked Keflavik (17-4) 69-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Keflavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Keflavik forced 19 Hamar turnovers. The best player for the winners was center Sandra Lind Thrastardottir (172-96) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Bryndis Gudmundsdottir (178-88) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Keflavik's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Sydnei Moss (178-88, college: Co.Carolina) produced 19 points and 9 rebounds and forward Heiaa Valdimarsdottir (-92) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Keflavik maintains second place with 17-4 record having just two points less than leader Snaefell. Loser Hamar keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Keflavik will meet at home bottom-ranked Breidablik (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hamar will play against Grindavik and hope to secure a win.
