Regular Season Round 22: Rueil - Quimper 89-80

Very predictable result when eighth ranked Rueil (11-8) defeated at home 15th ranked Quimper UJAP (5-16) 89-80. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Quimper UJAP won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rueil made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Quimper UJAP helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for swingman Kevin Bichard (196-86) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Benjamin Smith (178-87, college: Jacksonville, agency: Comsport) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Thomas Seguela (201-93) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Quimper UJAP. Five Rueil and four Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. Rueil have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Quimper UJAP lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Rueil's next round opponent will be Mulhouse Basket (#12) on the road where they are favorite. Quimper UJAP will play against Cognac BB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
