Regular Season Round 22: Vichy - Mulhouse 74-81

The most important game in the last round took place in Vichy between second ranked JA Vichy (13-7) and twelfth ranked Mulhouse Basket (9-11) on Saturday night. JA Vichy was defeated by Mulhouse Basket in a tough game at home 74-81. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-74. Mulhouse Basket made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Guard Mathieu Bigote (190-84) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Thibault Blanque (205-86) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Mulhouse Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Rida El Amrani (180-86) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Newly promoted Mulhouse Basket maintains twelfth position with 9-11 record. JA Vichy at the other side dropped to the third place with seven games lost. Mulhouse Basket are looking forward to face higher ranked Rueil (#7) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. JA Vichy will play against Saint Vallier (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
