Team Crema used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Genova 65-55 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Team Crema. Genova was better in second period 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Team Crema won last quarter 15-7. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Genova to just 7 points in fourth quarter. It was a good game for guard Paola Caccialanza (175-89) who led her team to a victory with 23 points and 4 assists. Cecilia Zagni (180-95) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Sara De Scalzi (176-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and forward Nene Diene (180-92) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Genova. Four Genova players scored in double figures. Team Crema will face Marinella (#5) in Santa Marinella in the next round. Genova will play at home against San Pietro and hope to win that game.
