The game between third ranked Proteas (15-3) and 9th ranked Olympiakos (3-15) in Voula on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Proteas outscored guests from Athens 84-41. The game without a history. Proteas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Olympiakos' 20. Proteas forced 19 Olympiakos turnovers and outrebounded them 60-21 including a 24-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Olympiakos' players. International center Maria Fasoula (190-97) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Christina Kitsiou (184-96) accounted for 8 points and 10 rebounds. Proteas' coach Alekos Daglas felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Eytixi Deligianni (183-84) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Lamprini Agagioti added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Olympiakos in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Proteas. They maintain third place with 15-3 record having just two points less than leader AE Ellinikou. Olympiakos lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Panathlitikos. Proteas will meet Anagenisi (#5) in the next round. Olympiakos will play against Panathlitikos (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
