Regular Season Round 2: Gigantes - Toros 82-75

No shocking result in a game when Gigantes (2-0) beat Toros (0-2) in Puerto Ordaz 82-75. Toros were ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 49-38 second half run of Gigantes. They outrebounded Toros 36-25 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Kammron Taylor (188-84, college: Wisconsin) scored 27 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Anthony Young (200-89, college: Ky Wesleyan) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Gigantes' coach Carl Herrera allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the former international swingman Rafael Perez (193-82, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 19 points and 5 assists. Gigantes will play against Guaiqueries (#6) in Porlamar in the next round where they are favorite. Toros will have a break next round.
