Regular Season Round 36: Shiga L-Stars - Takamatsu FA 80-75
Date: February 15, 2015
Very expected game when 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (10-24) lost on the road to fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (21-11) 80-75. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-17. But Takamatsu FA won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia, agency: Haylett Sports) who scored 27 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Andrais Thornton (203-85, college: NW Missouri St.) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Shiga L-Stars have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 21-11 record. Takamatsu FA at the other side keeps the eighth place with 24 games lost. Shiga L-Stars' next round opponent will be Osaka Evessa (#5) on the road. Takamatsu FA will play against the league's second-placed Hamamatsu Phoenix and hope to win that game.
