Regular Season Round 19: VL Pesaro - Grissin Bon RE 75-74

The most exciting game of round 19 in the Serie A took place in Pesaro. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Trenkwalder RE (14-5) to sixteenth ranked VL Pesaro (5-14) 75-74 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Trenkwalder RE. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 22-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) fired 21 points for the winners. His fellow American import forward Wally Judge (206-90, college: Rutgers) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). International point guard Andrea Cinciarini (193-86) produced 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Drake Diener (196-81, college: De Paul) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four VL Pesaro and five Trenkwalder RE players scored in double figures. VL Pesaro moved-up to fifteenth place. Trenkwalder RE at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Umana VE. VL Pesaro are looking forward to face higher ranked Virtus Acea (#12) in Roma in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trenkwalder RE will play on the road against the league's leader Armani Milano (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
