Regular Season Round 32: Toshiba BT - Hiroshima D. 94-82

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kanagawa. Third ranked Toshiba Thunders faced one of their biggest challengers Dragonflies. Host Toshiba Thunders (22-10) defeated guests from Hiroshima (15-16) 94-82. Toshiba Thunders made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Strangely Dragonflies outrebounded Toshiba Thunders 32-17 including 20 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Toshiba Thunders especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the other American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) who added 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. International power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 22-10 record having four points less than leader Hitachi SR which they share with defeated Dragonflies. Newly promoted Dragonflies keep the third place with 16 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will meet Wakayama T. (#5) on the road in the next round. Dragonflies will play against Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
