Top ranked Aishin Sea Horses (27-4) recorded its fourth loss in Tokyo on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Toyota Alvark (18-14) 90-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aishin Sea Horses. Toyota Alvark made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Aishin Sea Horses 53-38 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks and international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) added 22 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Toyota Alvark maintains fifth position with 18-14 record. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side still keep top place with four games lost. Toyota Alvark are looking forward to face higher ranked Dragonflies (#3) in Hiroshima in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aishin Sea Horses will play at home against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
