Regular Season Round 22: Lighthouse TR - Agrigento 80-85 OT

Lighthouse TR (#10) forced the game against Agrigento (#8) into an overtime, but lost by five points 80-85 on Sunday night. The game took place in Trapani. But the guests from Agrigento were better at the end. Lighthouse TR was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-22 charge of Agrigento, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-10. Agrigento dominated on the defensive end, holding Lighthouse TR to just 7 points in second quarter. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Agrigento forced 22 Lighthouse TR turnovers. Strangely Lighthouse TR outrebounded Agrigento 43-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Guard Marco Evangelisti (199-84) scored 26 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international power forward Andrea Renzi (209-89, agency: Players Group) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Patrick Baldassarre (200-86, agency: Players Group) scored 8 points and 17 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Agrigento have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Loser Lighthouse TR keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Casalpusterlengo. Agrigento will meet Sigma Barcellona (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Lighthouse TR will play against Forli and hope to secure a win.
