There was no surprise in Capo d'Orlando where 13th ranked Upea CdO (6-13) was defeated by ninth ranked Vanoli Cremona (9-10) 74-57. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Vanoli Cremona's pressure prevailed and they won that period 22-12 extending their advantage to 17 points. Vanoli Cremona outrebounded Upea CdO 49-28 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. International point guard Luca Vitali (201-86) accounted for 7 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Vanoli Cremona's coach Cesare Pancotto allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Croatian center Sandro Nicevic (210-76, agency: Beo Basket) added 12 points respectively for Upea CdO in the defeat. Vanoli Cremona moved-up to eighth place, which they share with AV Cantu and Giorgo Tesi PT. Upea CdO lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Vanoli Cremona's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Juvecaserta (#16) in Caserta and are hoping to win another game. Upea CdO will play on the road against Air Avellino and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
