The game in Gjakove was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Bashkimi (12-7) played at the court of 6th ranked Vellaznimi (5-14). Bashkimi managed to secure a 9-point victory 103-94. It looked good early as Vellaznimi took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bashkimi had a 32-16 second period charge getting the lead and Vellaznimi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 94-103. Bashkimi well out of reach of Vellaznimi shooting 82.6 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Tom Tankelewicz (193-91, college: W.Carolina) who led the winners and scored 17 points. Bosnian forward Mujo Tuljkovic (203-79, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side. Five Bashkimi players scored in double figures. Bashkimi's coach Edin Kerveshi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Korab Prekazi (198-92) came up with 31 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Ujkan Karanezi (200-95) added 21 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively for Vellaznimi in the defeat. Bashkimi maintains third place with 12-7 record having six points less than leader Sigal Prishtina. Vellaznimi lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. Bashkimi will play against bottom-ranked Kastrioti (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Vellaznimi will play against the league's second-placed Peja and hopes to get back on the winning track.
