The game in Bologna was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked AV Cantu (9-10) played at the court of seventh ranked Granarolo BO (10-9). Granarolo BO defeated AV Cantu 108-96. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of AV Cantu. The game was mostly controlled by Granarolo BO. AV Cantu was better in third quarter 32-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Granarolo BO won last quarter 35-24. They made 27-of-33 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Granarolo BO forced 22 AV Cantu turnovers. 30 personal fouls committed by AV Cantu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Jeremy Hazell (195-86, college: Seton Hall) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!). His fellow American import guard Abdul Gaddy (190-92, college: Washington) accounted for 15 points and 7 assists for the winning side. American point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette) came up with 27 points and 7 assists and Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for AV Cantu in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Granarolo BO moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dolomiti En. TR. AV Cantu at the other side dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Granarolo BO's next round opponent will be Tuscany Pistoia (#9) at home. AV Cantu will play against Banco di Srd in Sassari and hope to win that game.
