Regular Season Round 18: Northland - Norrkoping 75-62

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lulea. First ranked Northland faced 4th ranked Norrkoping Dolphins. Host Northland (17-1) defeated guests from Norrkoping (10-7) 75-62. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Norrkoping Dolphins. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-62. Northland dominated on the defensive end, holding Norrkoping Dolphins to just 7 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Norrkoping Dolphins' 22. The best player for the winners was international power forward Josefin Vesterberg (190-93) who scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Katie Bussey (175-90, college: Montana St., agency: LBM Management) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Northland's coach Jens Tillman used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Pernilla Hanson (181-90, college: Cal-Irvine) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and international Malin Aasa (177-87) added 12 points and 7 assists respectively. Four Norrkoping Dolphins players scored in double figures. Northland have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 17-1 record. Norrkoping Dolphins at the other side keep the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Alvik Basket. Northland are looking forward to face IK Eos (#9) in Lund in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Norrkoping Dolphins will play at home against Visby Ladies (#8) and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
