Regular Season Round 45: MH Basket - Anzorena 80-72

There was no surprise when 4th placed Anzorena (3-27) lost to first ranked MH Basket (21-7) in Monte Hermoso 72-80 on Monday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Anzorena won second period 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Anzorena outrebounded MH Basket 49-25 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for swingman Nicolas Lauria (202-88) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Guard Alejo Montes Cardozo (188-91) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American forward Jonathan Jones (198-88, college: Kean) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Nicolas Aguilera (178-91) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Anzorena. MH Basket maintains first place with 21-7 record. Anzorena lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 27 games lost. MH Basket will face again Anzorena (#4) in Mendoza in the next round.
