The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Camaguey's (9-12) road loss to fourth ranked Artemisa (10-10) 57-72 on Tuesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Artemisa dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Camaguey's 34. They outrebounded Camaguey 41-19 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sandro Marrero stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Osmel Oliva (178-87) chipped in 11 points, 11 assists and 5 steals. Five Artemisa players scored in double figures. Artemisa's coach Raudel Balaguer used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was the former international Yordany Jaca (195-83) with 11 points and 5 rebounds and forward Yoanny Baldo (191-89) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Artemisa maintains fourth place with 10-10 record. Camaguey at the other side keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Artemisa will again meet at home Camaguey (#5) in the next round. Camaguey will have a break next round.
