Regular Season Round 21: Capitalinos - Las Tunas 84-45

Undefeated leader Capitalinos delivered the twenty first consecutive victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked Las Tunas (5-16) 84-45. The game without a history. Capitalinos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Las Tunas to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Capitalinos held Las Tunas to an opponent 23.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Las Tunas 37-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Capitalinos players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Las Tunas' players. It was a good game for the former international swingman Lisvan Valdez (195-88) who led his team to a victory with 16 points. The former international Allen Jemmott (194-80) contributed with 10 points and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Alejandro Gomez (170-83) answered with 11 points and guard Manuel Hernandez (188-95) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Las Tunas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitalinos (21-0) have an impressive series of twenty one victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 21 victories in a row. Las Tunas lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Capitalinos will again play against Las Tunas (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Las Tunas will have a break next round.
