Second Stage Round 1: Maccabi Ashdod - Ramat Hasharon 73-49

Date: February 18, 2015
Very predictable result when Maccabi Ashdod (20-0) smashed at home Ramat Hasharon (9-11) 73-49. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ashdod. Ramat Hasharon was better in second period 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Ashdod dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Ramat Hasharon's 24. They outrebounded Ramat Hasharon 42-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Maccabi Ashdod players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a very good performance for naturalized American forward Alysha Clark (178-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds. American center Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international guard Brasheeda Elohim (180-80, college: Fayetteville St.) answered with 5 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard A'Dia Mathies (175-91, college: Kentucky) added 10 points in the effort for Ramat Hasharon. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi Ashdod's next round opponent will be Maccabi Ramat Hen (#3) on the road, which may be the game of the day. Ramat Hasharon will play against Elitzur Ramla and hope to win that game.
