LNBP top team - Halcones Rojos (31-7) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Panteras (14-24) in Aguascalientes 87-69. They outrebounded Panteras 48-26 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and international point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Halcones Rojos' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) responded with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Halcones Rojos have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 31-7 record. Panteras at the other side keep the eleventh position with 24 games lost. Halcones Rojos are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Barreteros (#14) in Zacatecas in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Panteras will play at home against Halcones UV Xalapa and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
