Second Stage Round 11: Tsmoki II - BGU Minsk 64-56

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Minsk: Tsmoki II (#2) and BGU Minsk (#6). Tsmoki II (18-3) won against visiting BGU Minsk (6-15) 64-56. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BGU Minsk won third quarter 23-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Tsmoki II won last quarter 20-13. They also forced 20 BGU Minsk turnovers. It was a great evening for power forward Siarhei Kazlou (203-95) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Roman Rubinshteyn (195-96) helped adding 6 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Cuban forward Darol Hernandez (206-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and point guard Danilo Astapenkau (175-90) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tsmoki II maintains second place in League with 18-3 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Grodno-93. Newly promoted BGU Minsk keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Tsmoki II will meet Borisfen (#4) in the next round. BGU Minsk will play against GOCOR-Sozh and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
