Regular Season Round 20: Crocodiles - Hawks 82-66

No shocking result in a game in Wulguru where sixth ranked Townsville Crocodiles (11-17) defeated bottom-ranked Wollongong Hawks (6-22) 82-66 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Townsville Crocodiles. Wollongong Hawks was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Wollongong Hawks 46-32 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Todd Blanchfield (200-91) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Brian Conklin (198-89, college: St.Louis) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Townsville Crocodiles players scored in double figures. American point guard Gary Ervin (183-83, college: Arkansas) produced 19 points and his fellow American import point guard Jahii Carson (178-92, college: Arizona St.) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Townsville Crocodiles have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 11-17 record. Loser Wollongong Hawks stay dead last with 22 lost games.
