The game between fourth ranked Artemisa (12-10) and 7th ranked Las Tunas (5-17) in on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Artemisa outscored guests from 84-62. The game was mostly controlled by Artemisa. Las Tunas managed to win second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Artemisa dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Las Tunas' 42. Artemisa forced 21 Las Tunas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a quality performance for forward Legismel Borlot (195-87) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Osmel Oliva (178-87) accounted for 15 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Artemisa players scored in double figures. Artemisa's coach Raudel Balaguer felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Yosniel Morales (196-87) came up with 9 points and 14 rebounds and forward Fernando Chapman (190-88) added 16 points respectively for Las Tunas in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Artemisa. They maintain fourth place with 12-10 record. Las Tunas lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the seventh position with 17 games lost. Artemisa will again meet at home Las Tunas (#7) in the next round. Las Tunas will have a break next round.
