Regular Season Round 23: Mulhouse - Rueil 87-94

Very expected game when 12th ranked Mulhouse Basket (9-12) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Rueil (12-8) 94-87 on Friday. Mulhouse Basket trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 29-25 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 87-94 at the end of the game. Rueil dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Mulhouse Basket's 42. It was a great evening for center Miguel Buval (207-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Dominique Gentil (197-88) helped adding 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Rueil players scored in double figures. Swingman Parfait Njiba (198-89) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and British-Ghanian center Eric Boateng (208-85, college: Arizona St.) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Mulhouse Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rueil have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Chartres. Newly promoted Mulhouse Basket keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Rueil will face higher ranked Saint Vallier (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mulhouse Basket will play against Cognac BB (#15) and hope to win that game.
