Regular Season Round 15: Alcobendas - IF Air Europa 88-87

The most exciting game of round 15 in the LF2 took place in Alcobendas. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked IF Air Europa (8-7) to second ranked Alcobendas (11-4) 88-87 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 31-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American forward Allison Feaster-Strong (181-76, college: Harvard) who saved her team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. Center Aitana Cuevas (187-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Lithuanian power forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Maria Alzamora (182-91) added 26 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for IF Air Europa. Five IF Air Europa players scored in double figures. Alcobendas maintains second place in Group B with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Ensino, which they share with Sant Adria. IF Air Europa at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Alcobendas is looking forward to face Segle XXI (#7) in Barcelona in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. IF Air Europa will play at home against Sant Adria and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
