Rather expected game when 5th ranked Biassono (1-3) was defeated at home by second ranked Albino (2-1) 73-61 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-61. Albino outrebounded Biassono 54-29 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Biassono was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Laura Fumagalli (178-85) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Czech forward Tereza Vorlova (186-86) who added 19 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Albino's coach Nazareno Lombardi used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Martina Gargantini (181-93) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Giulia Porro (165-95, agency: SPORTlab Agency) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Newly promoted Albino maintains second position in A2 with 2-1 record having just three points less than leader San Giovanni. Loser Biassono keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Albino will face Viterbo (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Biassono will play against Castellammare in Stabia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
