Regular Season Round 21: GTK Gliwice - AZS PP 65-60

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked AZS PP (4-17) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked GTK Gliwice (9-12) 65-60 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 17-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. GTK Gliwice outrebounded AZS PP 44-32 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Hubert Pabian (200-89, agency: Promotex) who scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Tomasz Wrobel (186-85) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Michal Szydlowski (197-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and center Szymon Budnikowski (200-84) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted GTK Gliwice maintains ninth place with 9-12 record. AZS PP lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. GTK Gliwice will meet higher ranked Stal Ostrow (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS PP will play against Astoria Bydg. (#10) and hope to secure a win.
